Tel Aviv: A massive rally of the families of Hamas captives to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. The protest, which started in the capital city of Tel Aviv, will last for five days. Hundreds of people are participating in the rally which reaches the Prime Minister’s office after 63 km. The protesters demanded the speedy release of those held captive by Hamas. About 240 people were taken prisoner after the Hamas operation Tufan al-Aqsaq, which took place on October 7. Some of them were released earlier.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s popularity has plummeted as the Israel-Hamas conflict continues, according to reports. Earlier, a massive protest rally was held in front of Netanyahu’s residence demanding his resignation. Thousands of people took part in the protest last Saturday night in front of the residence on Jerusalem’s Assa Street. The protesters demanded that Netanyahu resign immediately after failing to return the hostages taken by Hamas.

More than 1,400 Israelis were killed in the attack by Hamas on October 7. More than 240 people were taken hostage. More than 11,000 people have been killed so far in Israel’s retaliation after the Hamas attack.

Most Israelis believe that Netanyahu has failed to deal with the Hamas onslaught. In an opinion poll conducted by Channel 13 television, 76 percent of people were of the opinion that the Prime Minister should resign. After the war, 67 percent of the people were of the opinion that elections should be held soon. 44 percent said that the attack by Hamas was a direct failure of Netanyahu.
